あけましておめでとうございます

シュルレアリスム（超現実主義）は、今から約100年前にアンドレ・ブルトンによって提唱された芸術運動です。当時の共産主義やアナーキズムなどの政治的な内容だけでなく、広告やファッション、インテリアなどの日常生活に即した内容も含めた幅広いもので社会に大きな影響を与えました。
この展覧会では、ダリやマグリット、エルンストらシュルレアリスム運動を代表する日本でもお馴染みの作家たちはもちろん、今まであまり注目されてこなかった広告やファッション、インテリアなど視覚芸術以外の領域にも注目し、シュルレアリスム運動の発展と変遷の歴史をたどります。

Surrealism was an artistic movement proposed about a hundred years ago by André Breton. It had a profound impact on society, encompassing not only the political ideas of the time, such as communism and anarchism, but also a wide range of subjects rooted in everyday life, including advertising, fashion, and interior design.

This exhibition traces the development and transformation of the Surrealist movement. In addition to featuring artists familiar to Japanese audiences who represent Surrealism—such as Dalí, Magritte, and Ernst—it also sheds light on areas beyond the visual arts that have received relatively little attention until now, including advertising, fashion, and interior design.
