平和への永遠の努力　Eternal Efforts Toward Peace

最近の制作を通して

５月13日付けで紹介した作品（「黄昏の舞　Dance at Twilight」2026　The Art Work by Iridescent Color Version 2nd）が、
先月、開催された兵庫県美術家同盟展（会場　原田の森ギャラリー）で入選した。今回のテーマは「秋の夕暮れ」
秋の残照を背に受け、種類の異なる２匹の蝶が同じ空間で舞う姿を想像して描いた。地面すれすれのの場所から樹上を見上げるアングルの構図を考えた。
残照の部分をもう一段、明るくすることで、より「抜け（奥行き）」を効果的に表現できたのではないかと反省している。

今回、この作品を通して、ダイバーシティとまではいかないが、「融和」「寛容」「多様性の受容」の大切さを表現したかった。
先日の新聞に在日コリアンの方の記事が掲載されていた。大阪市生野区は5人に１人が外国人だそうだ。そのため生野区の基本生活理念は「異和共生」、意味は「異なったまま、和やかに、共に生きる」だそうだ。
今、世界に目を向ければ、ウクライナ、ガザ、レバノン、そしてペルシャ湾と、世界中のあちこちで戦火が絶えない。古来、人類はなぜ争いを繰り返すのか？
帝国主義、民族主義、宗教、いろいろな原因があるだろうが、私たちは、この永遠の問いの根本を改めて見つめ直し、「異和共生」の精神に学び、このような悲惨な状況を克服する不断の努力をしなければならない。いわば、永遠の問いに対する永遠の努力である。
翻って私自身は何ができるのか？　SNSへの投稿？　署名？　寄付？　金？　今できることから、まず第一歩を踏み出している。

Reflections Through My Recent Work

The work I introduced in my blog on May 13, Dance at Twilight (2026, The Art Work by Iridescent Color Version 2nd), was selected for the Hyogo Artists Association Exhibition held last month at Harada no Mori Gallery.The theme of this work is “an autumn twilight.” I imagined two butterflies of different species dancing together in the same space against the backdrop of the lingering glow of the setting sun. I chose a composition viewed from near ground level, looking upward toward the treetops.

In retrospect, I feel that I could have expressed a greater sense of openness and depth by making the afterglow slightly brighter.Through this painting, I wished to convey—not quite diversity in the modern sense, perhaps, but rather the importance of harmony, tolerance, and coexistence.

The other day, I read a newspaper article about Korean residents in Japan. In Ikuno Ward of Osaka City, one in every five residents is said to be a foreign national. Accordingly, the ward’s guiding philosophy for community life is Iwa Kyosei—literally, “living together harmoniously while remaining different.“

Yet when we look around the world today, armed conflicts continue unabated—in Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon, and the Persian Gulf. Why has humanity repeated the same tragedies throughout history? Imperialism, nationalism, religion—there are undoubtedly many causes.Nevertheless, we must once again confront this eternal question at its core. We should learn from the spirit of Iwa Kyosei and continue making steadfast efforts to overcome such tragic circumstances. In other words, eternal efforts are required to answer an eternal question.

Then I ask myself: What can I do?
Post on social media? Sign petitions? Make donations? Contribute financially?
I have begun by taking the very first step—doing what I can, starting now.
